Thank you for participating in the introduction and imaging session we held on Friday last! Our next 2 sessions for the upcoming week are scheduled for Thursday Aug 21st and Friday Aug 22nd, details of which you can obtain at the website. I once again STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF USING THE WEBSITE AND JUPYTER NOTEBOOKS FOR ALL COMMUNICATIONS REGARDING COURSE CONTENT, SCHEDULE AND ASSIGNMENTS linked below. Please read this website thoroughly and do the Jupyter Notebook assignments as instructed there. There are 5 assignments due on Tuesday August 20th as you can see. I will make sure that the Google VM and Jupyter Notebooks will be available all week and 24 hours each day this upcoming week to facilitate getting everyone on-boarded!

Lastly, I would like for each of you join the slack channel, please say hello to your fellow students by posting something about yourself there as soon as you join in the slack channel, In addition, I want you to write a single paragraph of at least 5 lines about something that peaked your interest about your assigned star, especially as it relates to spectroscopy, star type, temperature color etc. Historical notes (discoverer, specific star events since its discovery) are also welcome and important for fully understanding the importance of Spectroscopy to Astronomy and other sciences we will study in this course. To do this properly, please study your star carefully from the wikipedia and other related references.

🔵 At the completion of this slack assignment and before the start of the Thursday RSpec session, WE INTEND TO MOVE ALL COMMUNICATIONS (questions, clarifications, sharing images, files, bug fixes etc.) TO THE SLACK CHANNEL LINKED BELOW and through completing Jupyter Notebooks for assignments. We will STOP USING EMAILS AS OF AUG 21st unless there are extenuating circumstances.
